Immigration Law

The Law Office of Ramon Gras helps people through the events that redefine them and their families in a caring and professional manner. Ramon Gras assists persons with immigration legal matters, including removal defense, detention bond, asylum, withholding of removal, cancellation of removal, U-Visa, adjustment of status, naturalization, and Special Immigrant Juvenile Status.

Our family law firm advocates for our clients and their families in the following:

  • Removal Defense – Individuals placed in immigration court removal proceedings can defend against removal when eligibility for an immigration benefit can be established. We advise, assist, and represent persons to identify all immigration benefits for which they qualify and demonstrate their eligibility to the court.
  • Detention Bond – If you are detained by the Department of Homeland Security, you have the right to request a bond hearing for your release. We assist persons to prepare a request to the court with the required evidence to support a favorable decision of release from detention.
  • Asylum and Withholding of Removal – Individuals who fear return to their home country because of persecution may be eligible for asylum or withholding of removal. We assist, advise, and represent clients in the preparation of the application for asylum, identification and presentation of relevant evidence, and filing and prosecution of their application in court.
  • Cancellation of Removal – Individuals who have continuously resided in the United States for at least 10 years with good moral character may qualify to defend against removal with a petition for cancellation of removal. We assist, advise, and represent clients to determine their eligibility for this benefit, and with the presentation of the petition and required evidence to establish it.
  • U-Visa – Victims of certain crimes in the United States may qualify for a U-Visa if the victim cooperated with law enforcement and the prosecuting authority in the investigation and prosecution of the crime. We assist persons to determine their eligibility for this benefit, and to prepare and submit their petition and relevant evidence to the government.
  • Adjustment of Status and Naturalization – We help persons to adjust their status in the United States to lawful permanent residents, and to naturalize as United States citizens when eligible to do so.
  • Special Immigrant Juvenile Status – Unmarried minor children who suffered abuse, abandonment, or neglect in their home country may be eligible to apply for Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, a pathway to lawful permanent residence. We help our clients from the beginning of the case in the family court, all the way through to lawful permanent residence and U.S. citizenship.
